The defensive twin of the Lucena: you're the one WITHOUT the extra pawn, their king and pawn are advancing, and one wrong setup loses. The PHILIDOR method draws effortlessly:

1. Park your rook on your THIRD rank (their sixth) — a fence their king cannot cross without pawn help 2. The moment the pawn advances to that rank, swing your rook BEHIND — to their first rank 3. Check from behind forever, or win the pawn — the king has no shelter left
