Knight and bishop are both '3 points' — and in endgames that tie breaks decisively, based on the PAWN STRUCTURE:

• BISHOP wins when: pawns on BOTH wings (long-range speed), open position, or it can attack pawns fixed on its color • KNIGHT wins when: pawns on ONE wing (no distance to cover), locked/closed structures (it jumps walls), or the enemy pawns sit on squares a bishop can't reach
