The Italian Game: Ideas, Not Lines
The Italian Game (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4) is your White repertoire, and it runs on IDEAS, not memorization:
1. The bishop eyes f7 — Black's softest point 2. c3 prepares the d4 push, building the big center 3. Castle early, then choose a plan: the slow d3 squeeze or the direct d4 strike
Every move has a reason you can say out loud. That's what makes it the perfect teacher.
